What You Need to Know

We understand that you may have a few questions, and we’re here to provide clarity to help you feel more confident about the product benefits.

This benefit reimburses you for your auto insurance deductible, up to $1,000 per covered loss, when you file and receive payment on a qualifying collision or comprehensive claim with your auto insurance company.

You may be reimbursed up to $1,000 per loss, with a maximum of two covered losses per year.

You must register through the Auto-Guard smartphone application. The benefit begins on the date of enrolment and continues for three (3) or five (5) years, depending on the benefit period provided at purchase

The benefit applies only to the specific vehicle (VIN) listed at the time of enrolment. The vehicle must be owned or leased by you and insured under an auto insurance policy naming you as the Named Insured.

Eligible claims include collision or comprehensive losses that:

  • Are approved and paid by your auto insurance company
  • Exceed your policy deductible
  • Occur during the active benefit period

Yes. If the loss is not a total loss, the vehicle must be repaired in order to be eligible for reimbursement.

The Auto Deductible Reimbursement does not apply if:

  • You do not have active auto insurance at the time of loss
  • Your insurance claim is denied or not covered
  • The loss does not exceed your deductible
  • Your deductible is waived by your insurance company
  • The vehicle is used for commercial purposes
  • The loss involves vehicles such as motorcycles, RVs, trailers, boats, ATVs, or other non-covered vehicles

You can file a claim by:

  • Log in to the Auto-Guard application, select “make a claim” and follow the link.
  • Notice of loss must be provided within 90 days of the loss, and all required documents must be submitted within 180 days (and no later than one year from the loss date).

Required documents include:

  • Your auto insurance declarations page
  • Proof of ownership or lease for the covered vehicle (title, registration, or loan/lease documents)
  • Repair estimate or total loss statement
  • Insurance settlement showing the deductible was applied
  • Proof that you paid the deductible
  • Any additional information requested to process the claim

Each device has a SIM card, that is pre-loaded with enough data to last a few years.

If you have configured your device to trigger alarms/data very often, there may come a point in a few years where you need to purchase more. This can be purchased through the App. and is inexpensive.

You can speak with your insurance company to renegotiate to a lower deductible and higher premium, or you have the option to extend your plan. This is available through the app. under “Products”.
